Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Somatic, Auditory, Visual, Intellectual (SAVI) model on mathematical creative thinking abilities of grade IV elementary school students on two-dimensional shapes material. This type of research is quasi-experimental which is designed in the form of Nonequivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sample used is a saturated sample which is all students of class IV A and class IV B of SDN Cimanggah 2 Sukabumi. The instrument used was a test, the test was given at the pretest and posttest. The learning process in the experimental class uses the SAVI model while in the control class without using the SAVI model, the learning process of each class is done three times with the same material which is to two-dimensional shapes. The test results showed that the experimental class students had a final average value of 72,89, higher 21,57 than the control class of 51,32. In addition, the results of the testing of two Independent Sample T Tests showed significant results of 0.000 smaller than the significant level of (0.05), meaning that there were significant differences in results between the experimental class and the control class. So that it can be concluded that the SAVI model has an influence on mathematical creative thinking skills in elementary school fourth grade students in the academic year 2018/2019.
