Abstract

Teenager will experience hormonal changes the body related to the maturity the reproductive organs, namely the first menstrual period is menarche. Warm compresses have effect on reducing dysmenorrhea pain, this is because the warm feeling can reduce muscle spasms, stimulate nerve fibers that close, has vasodilating effect on blood vessels, dilates blood vessels and improves blood circulation in tissues, reduces the effect muscle tension, reduces pain intensity and provides warm and comfortable feeling. To identify the effect warm compresses on dysmenorrhea pain in adolescents. The method used this research is literature review. Using the Google Scholar data base source, the keywords warm compresses, dysmenorrhea pain, teenagers. Maximum time for publishing articles is 10 years (2012-2022). It was found that 3 articles were taken according the inclusion criteria. It was found that the characteristics the selected respondents were among adolescents including the age 15-25 years, the dysmenorrhea pain scale before was mild to severe pain and after warm compresses it became painless to mild pain. Identification dysmenorrhea in adolescents, namely primary dysmenorrhea. The results analysis from three journal articles show that warm compresses have effect on reducing dysmenorrhea pain among adolescents. Conclusion, warm compresses have effect on reducing dysmenorrhea among adolescents.
