Publication Ethics
JIAIS (Jurnal Integrasi AL-Islam dan Sains) is committed to maintaining high ethical standards of scientific publications. The entire publishing process is carried out in a transparent, fair, and integrity manner, involving writers, editors, reviewers, and publishers professionally and responsibly. This publication ethics document is prepared as a guideline for all parties involved in the process of publishing scientific articles at JIAIS, and refers to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) which are adapted to the character and scope of the journal.
Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines
The publication of scientific articles in JIAIS is an important part of the development and dissemination of science that integrates the values of Islam, Muhammadiyah Studies and Islamic Science (includes natural science and socio-humanity sciences). Therefore, all parties and involved are obliged to uphold academic ethics in order to maintain the trust, quality, and credibility of scientific publications.
- Research Integrity
Every article submitted to JIAIS must be the result of research or studies conducted in an honest, objective, and responsible manner. Academic misconduct practices such as data fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism of any kind are not allowed. Violations of research integrity may result in manuscript rejection, correction, or retraction of published articles.
- Authorship and Contribution
The author is required to include the names of all parties who have significant intellectual contributions to the research or writing of the article. Indirect contributors can be listed in the thank you section. Authorship writing must be done fairly and transparently.
- Conflict of Interest
Authors, editors, and reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial, institutional, or personal, that may affect the assessment process or the results of the publication of the article. Transparency of conflicts of interest is necessary to maintain objectivity and public trust.
- Peer Review Process
JIAIS implements a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept secret to ensure an objective and fair assessment. Reviewers are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript and provide constructive and science-based input. The content of the manuscript may not be used for personal gain without the author's permission.
- Data Disclosure and Reproducibility
Authors are encouraged to present data, methods, and research analysis processes clearly and openly to support transparency and the possibility of verifying research results. If the data cannot be opened to the public, the author is obliged to provide a reasonable reason.
- Violation of Publication Ethics
JIAIS implements a zero-tolerance policy against publication ethical violations, including plagiarism, publication duplication, data manipulation, and improper authorship. Any alleged violations will be dealt with seriously in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Article Correction and Recall
If substantial errors or inaccuracies are found in the published article, the author is required to immediately inform the editor. The editor is authorized to make corrections, clarifications, or retractions of articles in accordance with the level of errors and the provisions of publication ethics.
- Supervision of Research Ethics
The editorial board ensures that each article meets the ethical standards of research, especially research involving human subjects, sensitive data, or local knowledge. This kind of research must obtain ethical approval from the authorities and be clearly reported in the article.
- Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
The author is obliged to respect intellectual property rights and ensure that all material used in the article including tables, images, and quotes has obtained the appropriate permission. Copyright infringement can be the basis for the rejection or withdrawal of the article.
Editorial Responsibilities
The editor is responsible for:
- Determine the decision to accept or reject manuscripts based on scientific quality, originality, and suitability with the focus of the journal.
- Ensure that the review process is fair, objective, and free of conflicts of interest.
- Handle alleged violations of publication ethics in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Author's Responsibilities
The author is obliged to:
- Guarantee that the article is original and has never been published or submitted to another journal.
- Present data and analysis accurately and comply with research ethics standards.
- Not submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
- Disclose funding sources and potential conflicts of interest.
Reviewer Responsibilities
The reviewer is tasked with:
- Assess manuscripts objectively based on scientific quality and scientific contributions.
- Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript being studied.
- Do not use the content of the manuscript for personal or other parties' interests.
By adhering to this publication ethics, JIAIS (Jurnal Integrasi AL-Islam dan Sains) strives to become a credible scientific publication forum with integrity, and makes a real contribution to scientific development.
