Abstract

A bamboo laminate beam is a product made from several bamboo slats glued together in a parallel fiber direction. Gluing is done to the width (horizontal) and to the thick (vertical). The results of the gluing can be in the form of boards or beams depending on the thickness and width. The absence of testing on bamboo laminated beams both tensile strength, compressive strength and flexural strength. Then it is necessary to test the bamboo laminated beams, so that it can know the strength value of the laminated beams. The test results show that the bamboo laminate beam has the greatest flexural strength value of 830.66 Kgf / cm2, the lowest value is 732.09 Kgf / cm2 and has an average value of 778.83 Kgf / cm2. As for the compressive strength has the largest value of 681.43 Kgf / cm2, the lowest compressive strength value of 599.12 Kgf / cm2 and has an average compressive strength value of 637.52 Kgf / cm2. Then for the shear strength has the largest value of 118.782 Kgf / cm2, while the smallest value is 101.112 Kgf / cm and has an average value of 111.631 Kgf / cm2. Classification of bamboo laminated beams is included in Class II wood species.
